The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Google is planning to launch their own Google-branded home entertainment device sometime this year. Last week, we heard the company was testing a mystery in employee’s homes, could this be it?

The product is planned for launch this year, and will be sold under Google’s own brand, unlike GoogleTV, which was sold under the manufacturers brand.  The entertainment center is expected to allow for music to be streamed wirelessly to Google-made speakers and other devices in people’s homes. We also expect the device to stream video and have access to the Android Market.
